LENS WEAR & CARE

Your Questions, Answered

A little knowledge goes a long way. Explore essential guidance on choosing, wearing, and caring for your colored contact lenses.

SAFETY FIRST

Are colored contact lenses safe to wear?

Colored contact lenses can be worn safely when properly prescribed, fitted, cleaned, and used as directed by an eye care professional. Like all contact lenses, they carry risks, including irritation, infection, and eye injury if used incorrectly.

Do I need a prescription for colored contacts?

Yes. In the United States, all contact lenses, including plano colored lenses without vision correction, require a valid prescription. An eye care professional must evaluate the appropriate lens fit for your eyes.

Can I sleep or shower with colored contacts?

Do not sleep in your colored contacts unless specifically prescribed for overnight wear. Remove lenses before showering, swimming, or entering a hot tub. Water exposure can increase the risk of serious eye infections.

WEARING YOUR LENSES

How do I put in and remove colored contacts?

Wash and thoroughly dry your hands before handling lenses. Check that each lens is clean, undamaged, and correctly oriented.

Follow the insertion and removal techniques demonstrated by your eye care professional. Never use fingernails or sharp objects to remove a lens.

What should I do if my lenses feel uncomfortable?

Remove your lenses immediately if you experience pain, redness, unusual tearing, light sensitivity, or blurred vision.

Do not reinsert them until an eye care professional advises it is safe. Seek urgent eye care if symptoms are significant or persist.

CLEANING & STORAGE

How should I clean and store my contact lenses?

Follow your eye care professional's instructions and the lens care solution manufacturer's directions. Use fresh, compatible disinfecting solution and a clean lens case.

Never use tap water, saliva, or homemade saline solution to clean or store lenses.

Can I reuse contact lens solution?

No. Discard used solution after each storage cycle and refill your lens case with fresh disinfecting solution.

Never top off old solution. Clean, dry, and replace your lens case as directed.

How long can I use 6-month contact lenses?

A 6-month replacement schedule does not mean six months of continuous wear.

Follow the manufacturer's replacement instructions and your eye care professional's guidance. Replace lenses within the specified period, even if worn only occasionally.

Never wear expired, damaged, or uncomfortable lenses.

CHOOSING YOUR LENSES

How do I choose the right lens size and fit?

Diameter (DIA) and base curve (BC) are important fitting parameters, but numbers alone cannot determine whether a lens fits your eyes.

Your eye care professional should evaluate the lens design and confirm that it matches your contact lens prescription.

How do I choose a color for my natural eye shade?

Soft brown, honey, and muted olive tones often create a subtle everyday look, while grey, blue, and violet shades can create a more noticeable change.

The final appearance depends on your natural iris color, lighting, and lens pattern. Product images are helpful references, but results may vary.

Always prioritize a properly fitted lens over color preference.

Your eye health comes first. Always follow your eye care professional's instructions for fitting, wear, cleaning, and replacement.
